MembershipNew CYF Caregivers get their first two years Association fees paid, Barnardos is offering to pay membership costs also for their foster carers New Child, Youth and Family caregivers who wish to join the New Zealand Family & Foster Care Federation, will benefit through the service line paying their fees for the first two years under a new agreement. Previously caregivers had to cover the costs themselves. Organisations that are recognised include local Associations of the New Zealand Family and Foster Care Federation. Child, Youth and Family’s caregiver liaison social workers will advise new caregivers of this entitlement as part of the assessment process. Information will also be placed on Child, Youth and Family’s website and given as part of caregivers’ preparation training. "Our being able to fund association fees for our new caregivers means an enhancement in the level of support they will receive from their peers, especially in that critical first year of caregiving. We highly value our caregivers and want to ensure they feel safe and have a positive experience of caregiving for us. It’s an exciting new development,” said Mike Munnelly, Child, Youth and Family’s Manager Care and Protection, Service Development. New Caregivers wishing to register and become a member of their local Foster Care Association should telephone Toll Free 0800 69 33 23. Membership Application Form Back To Top
